A low vision aid (LVA) generally refers to a magnifying glass and telescope system.
LVA’s are particularly useful in helping a person with low vision to use any remaining sight they have and therefore makes day to day tasks easier to carry out.
Technology has greatly improved the quality of LVA’s and various systems are now available which offer improved optics at greater levels of magnification.
A low vision assessment is the best way of helping to identify the most suitable LVA for any given task. It is not unusual for a person to require different LVA’s for different tasks.
